Both Juan Andrés Machado and Eric Brewer graduated from the Architecture Department of Central University of Venezuela in 1992. Machado then studied at the Westminster College (ARTS) of Pennsylvania, U.S.A.. Between 1993 and 1996 he worked with the architect Massimiliano Fuksas in Rome and Paris. Brewer completed his postgraduate studies at Columbia University. He received his Masters in Architecture and Urban Design in 1996. He was awarded the "Lucille Smyser Lowenfish" prize for best design. He has been a guest lecturer in the Masters program in Advanced Architectural Design at Columbia University and at the Central University of Venezuela.
