Matias Pinto, born in 1973, took a degree in architecture from the Universidad Central de Venezuela in 1994. He was one of the designers of the Venezuelan pavilion at the 1998 World Exposition in Lisbon, Portugal. Mateo Pinto was born in 1975 and graduated in architecture from the Universidad Central in 1999. His graduation thesis "Urban Housing for the Twenty-first Century" won the International Union of Architects Nordic Section prize at the 1999 UIA competition for architecture students in Beijing. Matias and Mateo worked with Federico Villanueva and Alejandro Kairuz on design of the San Miguel Community Center in Caracas, and with Hubert Klumpner on the Vertical Gymnasium in Barrio Santa Cruz.
