o.lbm was created in 1998 in Tijuana, Mexico by Leonardo Buendia. The firm explores issues of multiplicity, density, materiality, culture and society. Working within the region of Tijuana-San Diego, o.lbm uses the border not as "inspiration" but as a "condition." Looking beyond the romanticism and stereotypes of the region, o.lbm is able to expose relationships and intricacies that respond to the "factual," creating a series of organizational constructions that are able to generate new typologies reflecting the postmodern condition of the city. Collaborating with other disciplines enables o.lbm to establish a non-hierarchical operational system, which is able to adapt and re-structure to meet any situation confronted.
